NIZAMABAD, NOV. 26. A Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency member, Nagabhushanam, on Friday attracted the attention of other members and officials at the ZP general body meeting seeking setting up of a university named Telangana University.

By carrying a placard when the meeting was in progress, the TRS member from Sadasivnagar urged the members to pass a resolution for setting up Telangana University at Kamareddy in the district.

Since, Kamareddy was the centre for north Telangana if the university was established there it would serve the educational needs of the four backward districts of Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak and Adilabad, he argued.

With the members remaining silent over his suggestion, he wanted to know what was wrong if a separate university was set up for the backward region when three universities were there in Chittoor district alone.
