Government firm on solving naxal problem: task force  

 

HUSNABAD (KARIMNAGAR DT), NOV. 29. The convenor of the AICC Task Force on naxalism, Marri Sashidhar Reddy, has said that violence has no place in society.

Addressing a gathering here on Monday during his visit along with the task force members to study the naxalite problem in the region, Mr. Reddy said the Government was committed to solving the extremist problem through peace talks. He said the Government was treating the naxal issue as a law and order as well as a socio-economic problem.

The AICC was also keen on solving the naxal problem that spread over 12 states on priority basis and constituted the task force, he said, adding the task force would study the problem in-depth and give concrete suggestions to the Government for its solution.

To visit other states

Admitting that interior villages of the region had been denied of development on the pretext of naxalite problem by successive governments, he said the task force would submit a comprehensive report to the Government to deal the naxalite problem as a socio-economic issue.

He said the task force would also visit other states the next month. The task force would also meet the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the PCC president, K. Keshava Rao, on Tuesday.
